There are a number of free supports for women who wish to breastfeed their babies. Breastfeeding is most easily established immediately following a baby's birth.
If you wish to breastfeed your baby and are encountering difficulties, don't wait to seek assistance.

La Leche League Groups
All women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend a series of four meetings with content varying depending on the current focus and needs of those present. Any time is a good time to come to a La Leche League gathering: when pregnant, with a new baby or when considering weaning.
La Leche League meetings are invigorating gatherings of mothers and babies/toddlers held in a private home.
While a series of four meetings with the following topics is rotated throughout the year, the specific content varies significantly depending on the current focus and the needs of those present. Meetings for mothers of toddlers and for couples are also available from time to time.
Meeting 1: The Advantages of Breastfeeding to Mother and Baby
Meeting 2: Baby Arrives: The Family and the Breastfed Baby
Meeting 3: The Art of Breastfeeding and Avoiding Difficulties
Meeting 4: Nutrition and Weaning
All Leaders are experienced breastfeeding mothers who are trained to provide up-to-date breastfeeding information, encouragement and support. As Leaders are volunteers answering calls from their homes, please call during daytime/early evening hours if possible.
Call the Regina phone line (306-584-5600) for an automated message with the upcoming meeting schedule, locations, and current volunteers available to help women with breastfeeding issues.
